LAKELAND, Fla. — Donald James Tolan, 60, passed away June 3, while visiting family in Florida.

He was born March 12, 1952, in Waltham, Mass., to Donald J. Tolan and Elizabeth McAllister.

Don grew up in Norway. Don and his best buddy, Russell Frost, also now passed on, were members of the Norway Boy Scout Troop.

Don’s home port was in California for many years as he traveled the world, first as a Merchant Marine and then with the various companies he worked for.

Above all, Don was an amazing artist. He was naturally gifted with the creative skills to draw and paint. Don had a wonderful sense of humor, which he will always be remembered for. He was taken from us too soon.
