I am writing in regard to Lewiston’s Marcotte Park. Who is responsible for cleaning up the trash and litter that gets thrown all over the park — the Recreation Department or the city’s Public Works Department?
There is one sign posted in the lower park stating no dogs, littering or alcohol. Why aren’t there more signs posted in the other three parks stating no littering and to keep the city clean by picking up and disposing trash in the proper place?
The city gets tax money from those of us who live here. I would think that is enough to get more signs posted to remind people to clean up their trash and keep the city clean.
Roxanne Pennell, Lewiston
Editor’s note: Trash removal from city parks is the duty of the Lewiston Public Works Department.
