Sun Journal readers have applauded state Sen. Lois Snowe-Mello for work passing legislation that lowers taxes for everyone, especially low- and middle-income earners (LD1043); tireless work to expose waste and fraud at quasi-state agencies (Maine Turnpike Authority); and welfare reforms that move people to self-sufficiency.

What people don’t know is that she also co-sponsored a bill that will help save people’s lives. LD 435 will raise awareness of organ donations in Maine affecting countless families in need of a transplant.
