SOUTH PARIS — Leo L. Levesque, 89, formerly of 140 Ash St., Lewiston, (Frye School Apartments), died Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, where he resided for the past 17 months.

He was born in Lewiston, Feb. 26, 1923, a son of the late Paul and Marguerite Dumont Levesque. He was educated in Lewiston schools.

Mr. Levesque was a former member of St. Mary’s Church and was married to the former Muriel Fecteau, who died June 14, 1997.

Leo served in the U. S. Army during World War II and worked at Bates Manufacturing Co. as a weaver for 38 years prior to his retirement in 1988. He was also a former member of the Pastime Club, American Legion Post 22 Lewiston and the AMVETS.

He is survived by his daughters, Madeleine Levesque of Freeport and Norma Conley of New Jersey; his son, Richard Levesque and his wife, Lynn, of Auburn; four grandchildren, Briana and Alyssa Levesque, Shannon Simone and Stephanie Skow; a great-grandson, Jake Simone; his sisters, Claudette Richardson, Carmen Carter and Velma Morneau; and a brother, Roger Carter.

He was also predeceased by a sister, Jeannette Beaty; and a brother, Albert Carter.
