LEWISTON — An open house for families of kindergarten students was held Thursday night at the Montello Elementary School. More open houses are scheduled at all Lewiston schools in the next month.
The goal, said Superintendent Bill Webster, is to allow parents, especially those who have a student attending a new school, to meet teachers, tour the school “and develop a comfort level.”
Upcoming open houses are:
Aug. 27: Longley, grades K-6, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.; Farwell, grades K-6, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; and Martel, kindergarten, 6 to 7 p.m.
Aug. 28: Geiger, pre-K and K orientation, 8 to 9 a.m.; McMahon, kindergarten, 4 to 5 p.m.
Aug. 30, Montello, pre-K, 6 to 7 p.m.; McMahon, pre-K morning class, 4 to 5 p.m.
Aug. 31: McMahon, pre-K afternoon class, 4 to 5 p.m.
Sept. 6: Martel grades 1-6, 5 to 6 p.m.; Geiger, grades 1 to 6, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Sept. 11, Lewiston High, all grades, 6 to 9 p.m.
Sept. 12, Lewiston Middle, both grades, 6 to 7 p.m.;
Sept. 13: Montello, grades K-6, 6 to 7 p.m.
Sept. 18, McMahon, grades 1-6, 6 to 7 p.m.
