RANGELEY — Rangeley Friends of the Arts will present its final concert of the summer season at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at the Church of the Good Shepherd.

The Rangeley Community Chorus will take concertgoers, through song, to places throughout the United States and around the world. Locations, from a river in the Czech Republic to the Big Apple (“New York,New York”),  will be celebrated in music.

The chorus will sing an expressive, melodic song about the city of Innsbruck and go from “California Dreamin'” to Rio de Janeiro (“Girl from Ipanema”) to the country roads of West Virginia to the banks of the Jordan River to “Surfin’ USA.”

Besides eight chorus numbers, soloists and small ensembles wil perform “Route 66,” “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” and Istanbul (Not Constantinople).” 

The chorus is made up of 27 year-round and seasonal residents of the Rangeley area, plus Carrabassett Valley. Membership in the chorus is free and open to all.

Tickets, $10, are available at the Rangeley Chamber of Commerce and will be sold at the door.
