JAY — The Jay Historical Society Open House takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8.
Originally scheduled for Aug. 8, the event was canceled due to inclement weather.
The history of the “The Old Jay Tavern,” will be featured along with other beginnings of the town on Jay Hill in the late 1700s.
Next week, a new sign on the highway designating the old tavern site will be installed.
Displays will be set up in the meeting room of the new Florence Raymond Building.
Live country music on the lawn, a lawn sale, food sale, hot dogs, soda, and Indian pudding will be available.
