AUBURN — A Sumner man was taken to an area hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Route 4 near Lake Auburn on Sunday afternoon.
Auburn police Lt. Anthony Harrington said John Katula, 37, was taken to an unspecified local hospital after his vehicle was hit from behind by a car driven by Dustin Pickle, 22, of Groveton, N.H. No information was available about Katula’s condition Sunday night.
Harrington said the crash occurred about 12:30 p.m. on Route 4 north of Auburn.
Katula was stopped in the left-hand lane of the northbound lanes on Route 4 waiting to turn into the parking area by Lake Auburn near the causeway when his 1996 Dodge was hit by Pickle’s 1996 Mazda. Both vehicles were considered total losses.
