AUBURN — Memorial services honoring the life of Florence Corey were held Saturday from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son with Pastor David Clark officiating. During the service, words of remembrance were shared by Florence’s granddaughters, Erin Bartlett and Renee Prescott, as well Florence’s daughter, Sandra Greaton. Following a procession to Mt Auburn Cemetery, Pastor Clark recited committal prayers. Then all in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship at the home Judy Reed and Jan Corey. It was at the reception, the family discovered a newspaper clipping that Florence’s favorite song “Crazy” by Patsy Cline was recorded on Aug. 21,1961, which in 2012 was the same day, Aug. 21, that Florence passed away, which for the Corey family made that favorite song even more meaningful for them.
