LEWISTON — Jeannette M. Turcotte, 78, of Auburn, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 26, at d’Youville Pavilion, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lewiston, March 2, 1934, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Dolores (St. Germaine) Grenier. She attended local schools.

On Sept. 28, 1952, she married the love of her life, Roger Turcotte at St. Peter’s Church in Lewiston. Together they worked and raised their young family until his death in 2002.

She worked as a spooler at the Hill Mill for several years before working as a production operator at Tambrands for 18 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Louis Church, Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Auburn, Les Dames de St. Annes of the parish, The Morning Glories bowling league of Holiday Lanes and of the Snowgroomers Snowmobile Club.

In Jeannette’s younger years, she was a beautiful certified model. She enjoyed working in ceramics and loved her cat “Mim,” but she especially loved her time spent with her family.

She is survived by her two children, Roger Turcotte Jr. and his wife, Jane, of Auburn; her daughter, Bridget Gregory and her husband, Vance, of Poland; her grandchildren, Samantha Gagnon and her husband, Joseph, Sabrina Turcotte and Athena Gregory and Ashley Gregory; her great-grandchildren, Brandon Giguere, Emily Giguere and Breanna Gregory; and several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Roger Turcotte; and Memere Drapeau.

The family thanks the girls from Androscoggin Hospice Care, Sister Claire, and two special nurses, Rita and Katherine; and the staff at d’Youville for their loving care of Jeannette in her time of need.
