FARMINGTON — Police are investigating several incidents involving  people climbing up onto the roof of the Farmington Public Library and apparently eating and drinking.

It’s been an ongoing issue at the library, Bonnie Pomeroy, secretary of Farmington Police Department, said. After the library closes, no one is around to notice but signs of their presence, including beer bottles and food wrappers, are left for employees to find in the morning, she said.

No major damage has been done on the lower section of the roof. The library is concerned not only about the potential for damage but also for the safety of people climbing up there or climbing higher on the roof, she said.
