As a member of the Republican Party, I support the re-election of Democrat Margaret Rotundo of Lewiston to the state Legislature.
In her role as a representative and, specifically, as the ranking minority member on the Appropriations Committee, she fought tirelessly and with a determined commitment to limit the cuts to the state Drugs for the Elderly and federal Medicare Savings programs. Those two programs assist Maine seniors and disabled with the purchase of life-saving medications.
Her leadership, tenacity and advocacy for elderly and disabled Maine citizens retained those life-saving benefits for several thousand Mainers.
Rep. Rotundo deserves to be re-elected. She cares and works diligently for the elderly and disabled. Her continued leadership in the Legislature is necessary to save Mainers from further cuts in those life-sustaining programs.
Maine’s elderly citizens, who have worked, paid taxes, and served in the military, deserve to live their last years in dignity.
