Maine Media Women meeting
BRUNSWICK — The keynote speaker for Maine Media Women’s Sept. 8 meeting will be Jean St. Pierre, a financial adviser with Ameriprise Financial Services. St. Pierre will discuss “Women and Money and Investing.” Additional speakers will discuss “Videography and Photography” and “Social Networking and Your Business.”
The meeting will be at the Captain Daniel Stone Inn, 10 Water St.
The public is welcome. Coffee and networking will begin at 9 a.m. Program begins at 9:45. Keynote speaker starts at 11:40 during a working lunch. Admission is an item to be donated to Brunswick’s Coastal Humane Society Shelter. There is no charge for the luncheon.

Derby women host blood drive
PORTLAND — The American Red Cross is reporting a 15-year low on blood donations. In an effort to give back to their community the ladies of Maine Roller Derby are teaming up with the Red Cross to host a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at 524 Forest Ave. Appointments are suggested to reduce wait-time.

Emma’s Benefit is Sept. 8
WINDHAM — The Hired Guns of Maine Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club will open their club house at 6 Provost Drive on Saturday, Sept. 8, for a benefit for Emma, the daughter of fallen corrections officer and decorated military veteran Durward “Ben” Worster.
Ben died on June 20, leaving behind his 5-year-old daughter, Emma.
Emma’s Benefit will start at 11 a.m. There will be entertainment, raffles, an auction and refreshments.
Support can be shown by donating items for raffle/auction. Cash donations will be accepted.

Camera Club resumes meetings
BRUNSWICK — The First Light Camera Club of Brunswick will kick off its 22nd year on Thursday, Sept. 13. FLCC is open to photographers of all skill levels from the serious amateur to the professional. Twice monthly programs are planned to meet the interest of all skill levels.
Club programs include in-depth lectures, competitions, field trips, critique nights, member exhibits, hands-on learning sessions, a mentor program and other special events
The group meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. the second and fourth Thursday of each month from September to May at Kestrel Aviation, Hangar 6, in the old Brunswick Naval Air Station. Social time starts at 6:30 p.m.
