‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’

The Portland Players’ first production of the season will be “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” running Sept. 14-30. In this adaption of the biblical story of Joseph, audiences learn how Joseph, the favored son of Jacob, is betrayed by his jealous brothers, sold into slavery and driven to Egypt. Though beset with adversity, Joseph perseveres through wit and faith, and becomes the governor of Egypt, second only to the Pharaoh. Music is by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Tim Rice. Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $15 for students. Visit www.portlandplayers.org.
