STRONG — A man released from Franklin County Detention Center on Friday morning was arrested soon after on charges of trespassing and stealing a bike from a farmhouse on Route 4, police said.

Chad W. Lockrow, 37, whose last known address is Boston, was taken into custody after he returned to the property where he was arrested last week for criminal trespass, Franklin County Deputy Sandy Burke said.

Last week, Franklin County Detective David St. Laurent noticed someone entering the house through a window. He and Detective Tom White and Lt. Niles Yeaton took Lockrow into custody. He pleaded guilty and was released Friday morning after serving his sentence, an official said.

On Friday, police warned him not to return to the property, Burke said.

Detective White followed Lockrow to the farmhouse, where he is accused of taking an LL Bean bicycle. He was arrested on charges of criminal trespass and theft of lost or misplaced property, Burke said.

Police contacted the retailer to see if it could identify the owner with the serial numbers of the fairly new black Pathfinder Jr. bike. The owner is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department at 778-2680.

Lockrow has an extensive criminal history from seven states, Burke said.

Bail was set at $2,500 cash but Lockrow will have to wait till Tuesday to appear in court, Burke said.
