On Aug. 16, some two dozen quilt enthusiasts enjoyed a program, “100 Years of American Quilts,” at the Bethel Historical Society. Bonnie Dwyer, far right, of Manchester, who is certified as a quilt appraiser by the American Quilter’s Society, reviewed quilting trends in the United States by showing examples of quilts from the mid-19th to the mid-20th centuries. During the event, she displayed 25 quilts from her own collection and talked about a number of quilts brought in by participants. Among those assisting from the local Cross-Country Quilters group were Pat McCartney, left, and Cindy Fraher, right.
