Violence and the killings in the U.S. are being provoked by the movie makers, by television shows and by the Internet. The Obama administration, however, should be held accountable for trying to control programs that affect people’s lives.

A perfect example: the gun control laws should be handled by a separate agency operated by people capable of implementing tougher laws to help scrutinize anyone purchasing any type of guns.

Movies were produced about past wars and Vietnam as examples of a political war this nation lost and all the thousands of lives that were sacrificed to protect life here in the U.S. No one needs to be reminded of that. Perhaps that is where the money is, making violent movies, but they can entice certain individuals with ideas about killing.

There is probably a movie about the massacre in Colorado already being planned.

The violent programs on television should be blocked to protect children from being exposed to all that trash, found even on cartoon channels.

The Internet has to be the worst case scenario, where people can learn how to make explosives and be exposed to an arsenal of weaponry, with instructions on usage. A person can even purchase all types and calibers of ammunition.

My condolences go to the families who lost loved ones at the movie theater massacre in Colorado. The person who shot them was cold-blooded, showing no sign of remorse during his first court appearance on national television. He looked intensely spaced-out and merciless.

Robert Lacombe, Sabattus
