Mitt Romney will never understand ordinary people such as myself, friends, neighbors or relatives. He will never comprehend what it is like to live with an ordinary job or with a typical income.
His income, as reported to the IRS for the year 2010, was $20 million. And we have no idea how much money he has in banks in Switzerland, the Cayman Islands or other accounts outside the U.S. Like other very wealthy people, I assume he does that to avoid paying taxes on his wealth to the U.S. government. He also has multiple million-dollar homes.
When former President George Bush Sr. was running for re-election, the former governor of Texas, Ann Richard, said of him that he was “born with a silver spoon in his mouth.” I think perhaps Romney was born with a diamond-studded silver spoon in his mouth.
The elitists will never be able to relate to ordinary people.
