LEWISTON — Stephen R. Ham, 73, of Lisbon, died Sept. 2, at The Marshwood Center following a long courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma sadly leaving his family behind whom he loved dearly.

He was born April 19, 1939, the son of the late Everett and Vivian (Hodgkin) Ham, in Lisbon Falls. He attended local schools graduating from Lisbon High school in 1957.

On Aug. 7, 1981, he married his beloved wife, Doris (Renaud) Ham. He worked as a deputy sheriff for Androscoggin County for 32 years. He also hauled mobile homes cross country and he owned his own gas station, American Station, in Lisbon Falls.

He was a custodian and bus driver for many years and truly enjoyed getting to know the “kids.” He recently proudly received his 50-year pin for being a Mason.

He enjoyed spending time with family, camping and visiting at Riverbend Campground with his friends, tinkering with motors and small engines and listening to country music. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten; having shown us how to fight the fight for as long as one can endure but having to leave his “earthly family” to join his eternal family in heaven. God rest his soul.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Doris Ham of Lisbon; four daughters, Lori Ham of Sabattus, Denise Dube and her husband, Joseph, of Lisbon, Christy Ham of Sabattus and Kim Moore and her husband, Zeke, of Wales; three grandchildren, Colby McKay, Taylor Moore and Logan Moore; one brother, Rufus Ham and his wife, Nancy, of Lisbon Falls; two sisters, Lucy Hylan and her husband, John, of Michigan, and Harriet Hawkins and her husband, Larry, of Lisbon Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
