Key losses: Cam Sennick (WR/CB), Eric Berry (RB/CB), Chirs Malone (RB/LB), Izaiha Tracy (RB/FS), Caleb Farrington (OL/DL), Dustin Zamboni (OL/DL), Sean Moore (OL/DL), Chris Cautillo (OL/LB), Nick Hilton (WR/FS), Shawn Keach (OL/DL/K).
Promising newcomers: Seniors — Drew Blanchet (C), Nick Hyde (WR/LB), Chris Wells (DT); Junior — Cam Abbott (WR/DB), Kindle Bonsall (OLB), Tyler Sennick (G), Connor Farrington (G).
Outlook: The Cougars were one play away from the state championship game last year and have a legitimate shot at taking the next step. Whitney, a three-year starter, is one of the most prolific passers in the state, but he is also a big part of the running game. The weapons around him are almost all new. Jackson and Luker did get carries last year and will give the Cougars a more physical attack behind a rebuilt offensive line. The receivers are all new except for Kendall, an all-conference tight end last year. All-PTC returnees Jackson and Luker lead the defense.
Coach’s comment: “These guys learned a lot from last year’s seniors.” — Coach Gary Parlin
