Last year’s record: 0-12

Returning players: Seniors — Gunnar Johnson, AJ Elmes: Juniors — Thomas Clinch, Michael Haley.

Promising newcomers: Eighth grade — Carl Trafton, Ricky Thompson

Outlook: The Lakers were winless last year and only won two games the year before.  Jensen is a new coach trying to rebuild the program. That isn’t easy to do in a small school with dwindling numbers, but the Lakers hope to make a steady improvement.

Coach’s comment: “I am extremely excited about this season. With the high school getting progressively smaller, its been hard to get enough kids to field a team. The kids that have showed up are working extremely hard at getting better every day. The team is coming off a winless season. So we know we’ve got a long way to go to be where we want to be, but I have all the confidence in the world that we will reach our goals.”
