Historical Society meeting

DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at 63 Main St.

Peter Stowell will be showing old pictures of Dixfield at the meeting. Many of these pictures have not been seen by members before and should provide an informative session on the way life used to be in Dixfield.

Member comments on the pictures may yield new information that Stowell can use in the book, “Dixfield,” that he’s writing for the group. The book is being published by the Arcadia Publishing Company of Charleston, S.C., as part of its Images of America series.

Anyone with old pictures of Dixfield that could be used in the book should bring them to the meeting, especially pictures of people and scenes of East Dixfield and the Dixfield Centre.

Light refreshments served. The public is cordially invited.
