Winthrop 3, Mountain Valley 0

WINTHROP — Emma Spahr, Shauna Carson and Rachel Ingram each scored a goal Monday as Winthrop served up its fifth straight shutout to start the MVC field hockey season, 3-0 over Mountain Valley.

Ingram and Mary-Claire Blanchard registered assists for the Ramblers (5-0). Alyssa Arsenault made three saves in the cage. Mountain Valley counterpart, Vanessa Swett, turned away 10 shots.

Lisbon 5, Hall-Dale 0

FARMINGDALE — Sarah Craig collected two goals and one assist and Molly Nicholson notched a goal and two assists Monday, launching undefeated Lisbon to a 5-0 MVC field hockey win over Hall-Dale.

Arianna Kahler added a goal and an assist for the Greyhounds (5-0). Kahler and Hanna Jordan each scored in the first half, staking Lisbon to a 2-0 lead.

Craig scored her two goals three minutes apart in the second half. Stevie Charest and Mia Durgin combined for eight saves in the Lisbon cage.

Edward Little 2, Oxford Hills 0

AUBURN — Senior Kaelina Perron scored off a pass from Taylor Berube nine minutes into the second half to break a scoreless tie and help propel Edward Little to its first victory of the season with a 2-0 blanking of Oxford Hills in KVAC field hockey.

Perron later assisted on a goal from Jacqueline Langevin to seal the victory for the Red Eddies (1-3). Amanda Williams stopped all seven shots she faced for the shut out. Shannon Fillebrown turned away 13 shots for the Vikings (0-2).

Spruce Mountain 6, Telstar 0

BETHEL — Erin Gats and Kayla Meserve struck again each scoring a pair of goals leading Spruce Mountain to a 6-0 shutout over Telstar in MVC field hockey.

Gats opened the scoring with an unassisted goal followed by an unassisted tally from Meserve giving the Phoenix (3-1) a 2-0 halftime lead. The two each scored a goal to start the second half before Jahna Couture and Nicole Hamblin closed out the scoring with goals of their own.

Hali Barter made 10 saves in net for the Rebels (1-4). Kasey Richards stopped the only two shots she faced for the shutout.

Mt. Blue 8, Lincoln 0

FARMINGTON — Seven different scorers hit the scoring column as Mt. Blue downed Lincoln Academy 8-0 in KVAC field hockey.

Victoria Newbill scored a pair of goals for the Cougars (3-1). Mikayla Oswald and Hanna Deon each had a goal and a pair of assists.

Andrea Call had seven saves for Lincoln Academy while her counterpart Rileigh Blanchet had no save opportunities in net for Mt. Blue.

Oak Hill 6, Boothbay 3

LITCHFIELD — Kylee Veilleux netted a hat trick, Hayley Marshall added another two goals and Danielle Samson had one more as Oak Hill held serve at home with a 6-3 victory over Boothbay in MVC field hockey action Monday.

Sadie Goulet, Heather Hannigan and Marshall all had assists for the Raiders (2-3), and Abby Fuller earned the win in net.

Madison McCarthy tended goal for the Seahawks (1-3).

Soccer

Mt. Abram 5, Telstar 0

SALEM — Taylor Henderson netted a pair of first half goals to help lift Mt. Abram to a 5-0 blanking over Telstar in MVC girls soccer.

Henderson’s first goal came with just under 11 minutes remaining in the first half off an assist from Jill Howard. Henderson scored again less than three minutes. Alex Harnden rounded out the first half scoring with a goal off another assist from Howard for the Roadrunners (2-1-1).

Emma Houston tallied an unassisted score to open the second half before Howard finished the scoring with an unassisted tally of her own. Courtney Currier stopped 19 shots in net for Telstar (1-2-1) while Allie Lopez turned away the two shots she faced.

Lewiston 0, Oxford Hills 0

SOUTH PARIS — Both teams played through regulation and a pair of overtimes to finish in a 0-0 tie in KVAC girls soccer.

Oxford Hills outshot Lewiston (0-3-1) 10-9, being denied by Lewiston keeper Lex Jimenez’s five saves. Samantha Bickford stopped six shots for the Vikings (0-3-1).

Lisbon 2, Hall-Dale 0

FARMINGDALE — Renea Samay-Houle registered two first half goals that held up as Lisbon blanked Hall-Dale 2-0 in MVC girls soccer.

Samay-Houle’s first goal came at the 30 minute mark assisted by Kayla Angelico. Her second goal game about 20 minutes later unassisted.

Courtney Martel turned away six shots in net for Lisbon (2-0-1) while Olivia Maynard stopped six in the loss for the Bulldogs (1-2).

Carrabec 2, Spruce Mountain 2

JAY — Casidee Couture scored the tying goal with 1:44 remaining in regulation to help Spruce Mountain earn a 2-2 tie with Carrabec in girls’ soccer.

After a scoreless first half, Carrabec got on the board first with a score from Brook Lewis. After an equalizing score from Vanese Barnes, the Cobras took the lead again with another goal from Lewis.

Spruce Mountain’s Emily Keen and Carrabec’s Sarah Larlee were in net for both teams.

Dirigo 5, Mtn. Valley 1

DIXFIELD — Natalie Bolduc capped a hat trick with a goal late in the second half to punctuate a 5-1 Dirigo victory over rival Mountain Valley in MVC girls’ soccer action Monday.

Megan Bradbury and Destiny Newton also scored for the Cougars (3-2), while Bradbury, Kayla Gaudin and Lindsy Crutchfield added assists and Natasha Deroche stopped seven shots in goal.

Sarah Klein netted the lone goal for the Falcons (0-5), and Jena Plourde turned back 14 Dirigo shots.

Wiscasset 1, St. Dom’s 1

WISCASSET — Kayla McLellan tied the game with an unassisted goal with 14 minutes left in the second half to help St. Dom’s earn a 1-1 tie with Wiscasset in girls’ soccer.

Alecia Faulkingham got the Wolverines (3-1-1) on the board first with an unassisted score in the first half.

Kelly Pomerleau turned away eight shots in net for the Saints (3-0-1) while Kayla Gordon stopped 14 for Wiscasset.
