DIXFIELD — A funeral service honoring the life of Oliver I. Blood Sr. was held Saturday at Dixfield Congregational Church. Pastor John Gensel officiated. The organist was Mary Fenstermacher. Music selections were “In the Garden,” “Amazing Grace,” “The Old Rugged Cross” and “You Are My Sunshine.” Personal reflections were shared by Nicole Knowles and Erica Arsenault. Bearers were Harold “Skip” Blood, Harvey Blood, Heath Blood, Ronnie Henry, Tommy Davenport, David Davenport and Jason Irish. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery. Military honors were rendered by the Maine Funeral Honor Guard. A reception followed in the church annex. Services were under the care and guidance of SG Thibault Funeral Home, Rumford.
