DEAR SUN SPOTS: Of late, we have read several requests in your column from readers seeking a variety of services including assistance with selling merchandise on the Internet to looking for someone who purchases anything from used furniture to a houseful of items because they are downsizing.

We provide those services, plus more. We are Humble-Bobbs Secondhand LLC at 2178 Lisbon St. in Lewiston. Our retail location is on Route 196 at the Lewiston-Lisbon town line.

We are a resale establishment much like a group shop or indoor flea market offering a wide variety of secondhand merchandise both collectible and practical. We buy and sell furniture, glassware, tools, household goods, records, toys, jewelry, art, antiques — almost anything — though we strive to offer as much in the way of unique and vintage and collectible items as we can.

We also offer several services such as table rental within our store (though limited), consignment services, Internet sales services (we sell for you on E-Bay), estate purchases (one item or a household) and residential and commercial clean-out services.

We would very much appreciate being included in your Rolodex of local businesses providing these services to central and southern Maine. Thank you very much for your consideration. — Dan Beaudoin, dandee84@roadrunner.com, 577-6746

ANSWER: Thank you very much for writing. Sun Spots predicts an onslaught of new business!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In your Aug. 30 column, someone had written in about selling a collection of comic books and you were stymied as to where to direct them (with Zimmie’s no longer in operation).

I have a twofold solution for that. I do buy comics on a small scale, and have been known to buy entire collections from time to time. But if the collection is something that I don’t want or on a scale that I can’t handle personally, I could direct them to the other dealers in the state (actually, there are a few that might drive across the border for the right collection).

So, with a similar request in the future, you could have someone contact me directly or they can go directly to my website, www.bigredapress.com, where I have the major dealers listed at the bottom of the home page, although not all the private dealers.

Thanks very much. — Mike Jordan, Big Red A Press, 353-4021, bigredapress@roadrunner.com

DEAR SUN SPOTS: i have several fur coats that belonged to my mother (black lamb wool with a hand muff) and others in good condition that I am looking to sell for a modest price. I have been told that people making stuffed bears might be interested. I lack the storage space to keep them. — M Jalbert via email

ANSWER: Sun Spots doesn’t know if the people who make fur teddy bears would want to buy your fur coats, but you could have your coats made into teddy bears and then sell them. It seems to Sun Spots that Christmas would be a great time to try to sell furry teddy bears on eBay.

The names of the teddy bear makers are:

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Do you have the name of a couple who do window washing as a team?

If not, do you have a list of people who do window washing? Thank you. — B. Young

ANSWER: Sun Spots does not have any information on either topic, unfortunately. Can readers help?

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In response to the Aug. 30 query, I am a licensed Thai massage therapist. Many thanks. — Robyn Born, West Auburn, robynborn@hotmail.com, 576-1531
