NORWAY — The Western Maine Art Group has announced the Norway Arts Festival Artist Awards winners. The Artist Awards were selected for the 45th annual Sidewalk Art Show, judged at the Lajos Matolcsy Arts Center by Michael Ranucci and Phil Hammet. More than 80 entrants submitted to participate in the Sidewalk Art Show. The winners were as follows.

Best of Show: “Havana Man,” Gail Rein.

Two dimensional: first place, “Independence Day,” Roland Simard; second, “New Harbor, Maine,” Irene Duplissis; third, “Old Testament, Holy Trinity,” Lyubov Ingerson.

Photography: first, “Reflections,” Thayden Farrington; second, “On the Way Home,” Duncan Miller; third, “Saint George in the Morning,” Lee Margolin;

Artisan: first, “Stained Glass Reflection,” Ken Jorgensen; second, “Agate Necklace,” Mary Nyman; third, “Life Raft,” Don Best.

Western Maine Art Group strives to provide opportunities for artists and artisans, to provide broad community access to original art and to partners with others to create a prosperous cultural environment in Western Maine. The Western Maine Art Group collaboration with Norway Downtown has yielded the Norway Arts Festival as a collaborative effort to bring many various arts and talents to the community once a year the second Saturday in July.
