Todd Gitlin’s Sept. 9 guest column was inspiring, awakening and futuristic, to say the least.

Version 1.0 or 2.0 of the Occupy movement does make a difference — the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. That is how government and the economy work.

Members of the two-party system are trying to outdo each other. If an idea comes from the Democrats, the GOP is against it and vice versa.

Elected officials must get together, for the good of both the state and the nation
