RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial for James M. Dragoon was celebrated Wednesday at Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church with the Rev. Raymond Picard as celebrant. The altar assistant was Bernard Poirier and the organist was Mark Belanger. Music selections included “Hosea,” “Because the Lord is My Shepherd,” “How Great Thou Art” and “Fly Like a Bird.” Readings were given by grandsons, Joshua and Jeremy Prue. The eulogy was given by a close friend, Frank Anastasio, who also read a letter written by daughter, Penny Rock and personal reflections were given by daughter, Deborah Prue. Presenting the gifts at the altar were grandchildren, Katelyn Rock, Jamie Prue and Stephanie Dragoon. Committal services were at the Demeritt Cemetery in Peru and conducted by the Rev. Picard. Military honors were given by the Maine Military Funeral Honors Program of Augusta. A reception followed in the parish hall of the church. Services were under the care of the Meader and Son Funeral Home.
