LEWISTON — From September through December, the Lewiston Public Library will conduct a Let’s Talk About It reading and discussion series in partnership with the Maine Humanities Council.
The series is “Refreshing the Whodunit: Moving Beyond Christie and Doyle.” Interested participants must commit to the entire series; one book is read each month and the group gathers for a facilitated discussion on the title led by a local scholar.
The scholar/facilitator for the series is Anna Simms Bartel, a local consultant, writer and mother and the former associate director of the Harward Center for Community Partnerships at Bates College. Bartel holds a Ph.D in comparative literature from Cornell University.
To register, email [email protected] with your name and phone number, or sign up at the library’s circulation desk.
All books for this series are provided by the Maine Humanities Council.
All meetings of this group will take place in the Couture Room on the first floor of LPL. Start time is 6 p.m. and each session runs approximately 90 minutes.
The group will generally be meeting on the third Thursday of each month, except for the final gathering in December which will be on the second Thursday, Dec. 13.
Books to be read and discussed are:
