PARIS — A special meeting Friday on Town Manager Phil Tarr’s contract has been canceled, according to an email from Town Clerk Elizabeth Knox. No reason was given.

Selectmen were set to meet in executive session at 7 p.m. to discuss a separation agreement with the town manager, whose contract was not going to be renewed at the end of the year.

The board is in the process of hiring a new town manager, and is looking over applications for the position.

On Monday, the board determined that Tarr’s duties would fall to Knox and bookkeeper Marjorie Risica should Tarr leave before his replacement is hired.

The board hasn’t set a new date for the meeting.
