LEWISTON — Rachel B. (Gagne) Kemp, 65, of Lisbon Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Sept. 10, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late William J. Kemp III, who died on Aug. 22, 2004.

She was born in Westbrook, Oct. 22, 1946, a daughter of the late Hormidas L. “Mike” and Alma P. (Cantara) Gagne. She grew up in Westbrook attending local area schools, graduating from Westbrook High School. She married William on Oct. 24, 1964. They resided in Raymond, until his passing, and shortly after that she moved to Lisbon Falls with her daughter and son-in-law.

Rachel worked at numerous places of employment, Sylvania/G.E., Bradley’s, Microwave Technique, S.D. Warren and up to her recent retirement, Walmart in North Windham and Brunswick.

She enjoyed reading romance novels, crocheting and playing Cribbage with anyone willing to go up against her. She also enjoyed scratch tickets and loved Bingo and the slots, making several trips to Foxwoods with her sister. Rachel was a kind and caring woman who was completely devoted to her family and her grandchildren were her pride and joy, supporting them in whatever they did.

She is survived by her three children, Elizabeth Sullivan and her husband, Jay, of Lisbon, Michael Kemp and his fiancee, Debbie Dow, of Parsonsfield and Suzanne Miller and her husband, Jeffrey, of Lisbon Falls; her seven grandchildren, William, Traci, Christopher, Sarah-Ann, Michael, Kolby-William and Aizyk-Michael; eight great-grandchildren; as well as a godson, Dennis Fecteau of Standish; and several nieces and nephews.

Rachel was predeceased by her sister. C. Priscilla Fecteau May of this year.
