AUBURN — Raymond W. Levesque, 81, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully at the Androscoggin Hospice House, with his loving family at his side. 

He was born in Auburn, March 15, 1931, the son of the late Wilfred and Julienne Poulin Levesque. He attended local schools, including St. Dominic High School, before enlisting in the Army and serving his country in the Korean War.

On Feb. 11, 1961, he married the love of his life, Cecile Hebert. Together they worked and raised their young family in the Lewiston-Auburn area. He was a postal distribution clerk for the U.S. Post Office for 22 years. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Holy Cross Church. He was also a past member of the Social Club, American Legion Post 22 and the Auburn American Legion post. He enjoyed woodworking, scroll sawing and playing games on his computer. He was a dedicated nursing home volunteer, especially in helping nursing home bound Veterans. He took very special care of his cousin, Theresa, and his Aunt Helen, visiting them constantly over the past years.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cecile Hebert Levesque; three daughters, Claire Levesque of Lewiston, Diane Levesque Blanchard and her husband, Alan of Cumberland and Rachel Levesque of Lewiston; two grandchildren, Caleb and Matthew Blanchard; and two cousins, Roland Levesque and Florence David.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his infant son, Gary; his cousin, Theresa; and his Aunt Helen.

The family would like to thank Dr. Roger Austin and the entire staff at The Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn for their loving care of Raymond in his final days.
