POLAND — Candidates for Senate District 15 and House Districts 101 and 103 will participate in a forum Thursday, Sept. 27.

It will be presented and funded by Friends of Ricker Library.

The event will be held in the conference room of the town office from 7 to 9 p.m., and will be televised on the public access channel and available at www.townhallstreams.com/locations/poland-me

Five of the six candidates vying to represent Poland in the Legislature live in other towns and are not well known by Poland voters. The forum is meant to give voters an opportunity to become informed about the candidates’ views and positions.

Candidates for Senate District 15 are Democrat John Cleveland of Auburn and Republican Lois Snowe-Mello of Poland. Candidates for House District 101 are Republican Laurie Mondville of Casco and Democrat Christine Powers of Naples. Those running for House District 103 are Republican Michael McClellan and Democrat Leslie (Jim) Stephenson of Raymond.

Voters are invited to question candidates, either in person at the forum or by call-in to the event.

Absentee ballots are available at the town office 30 days before the Nov. 6 election.
