LEWISTON — Marion “Babe” Rowe, 94, of New Gloucester, died Friday, Sept. 14, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 20, 1917. She was married to Warren “Percy” Rowe, who predeceased her.

She spent many years working with her sister, Annie, at Bailey Brothers General Store and was the postmaster there before her retirement. She was also a charter member of the Busy Bees and a member of the Amvets Auxiliary and Eastern Star.

Her favorite activities included spending time with and cooking for her family, crocheting, swimming, walking, bird watching, playing cards and visiting with friends.

She was able to live out her years in her own home in the care of Howard Verrill and his children/grandchildren.

She is survived by her nephews, Howard Verrill and his wife, Barbara, Willis Verrill and his wife, Elaine and Harold Gary and his wife, Carlene; a niece, Betty Robidoux and her husband, Eddie; and several generations of nieces and nephews.
