VILLANOVA, Pa. — Jonathan Albert of Auburn earned a Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University during a spring commencement ceremony held May 20.

WORCESTER, Mass. — The following local residents were among 1,286 students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute named to the university’s dean’s list for academic excellence for the spring 2012 semester.

Matthew Paladino of Turner, a senior majoring in civil engineering.

Emily Johnson of Gray, a junior majoring in biochemistry.

Angela Simpson of Auburn, a junior majoring in chemical engineering.

Neil Pomerleau of Auburn, a junior majoring in aerospace engineering.

MEDFORD/SOMERVILLE, Mass. — Tufts University recently announced the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester.

Among these students are Emma Leavitt of Gray, class of 2014; and Benjamin Barnes of Readfield, class of 2015.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — The following local residents were among the 750 Union College students named to the dean’s list:

Kyle Bucklin ’12, a resident of Auburn; Bucklin is a mechanical engineering major and a 2008 graduate of Brunswick High School.

Seamus Feider-Sullivan ’13, a resident of Brownfield; Feider-Sullivan is a mechanical engineering major and a 2009 graduate of Fryeburg Academy.

Tara Metzger ’15, a resident of Lisbon Falls; Metzger is a geology major and a 2011 graduate of Lisbon High School.

Calder Phillips-Grafflin ’12, a resident of Lewiston; Phillips-Grafflin is a computer engineering major and a 2008 graduate of Lewiston High School.

SELINSGROVE, Pa.— Ceara Teixeira of Lewiston received the Outstanding Portfolio Award and departmental honors at Susquehanna University’s annual student awards luncheon in May.

Teixeira is a recent graduate majoring in graphic design. She is a 2008 graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School and the daughter of Randall and Lisa Teixeira of Lewiston.

CANTON, N.Y. — Haley Burrowes of New Gloucester studied in Ethiopia this summer as a participant in St. Lawrence University’s Summerterm course there. A member of the class of 2014 at St. Lawrence, Burrowes is a graduate of Waynflete School, majoring in economics.

MEDFORD, Mass. — More than 3,000 students graduated from Tufts University on May 20.

The graduates from the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering included Martin Donovan of Bethel, with a bachelor’s degree in English; and Zachary Dumont of Auburn, with a bachelor’s degree in religion, cum laude.
