MADISON — Senior Brian Bedard had 120 total yards and scored three touchdowns as Leavitt amassed 351 rushing yards and rolled over Madison 38-6 in Class B football action.

Bedard rushed for 80 yards and collected 40 yards recieving, including a 9-yard TD reception from Tyler Chicoine in the first quarter. Chicoine connected with Sam Green on a 23-yard score to give the Hornets a 16-0 advantage at the half. The junior quarterback fired his third touchdown of the game, connecting with Bedard in the third quarter for a 20-yard score. Chicoine finished 9-for-11 with 107 yards and the three scores. Bedard rushed from two yards out for his final score for a 31-0 lead after three quarters. Junior tailback Josh Faunce helped lead Leavitt’s ball control by rushing for 125 yards on 16 carries.

Kevin Russell rounded out the scoring for Leavitt (4-0) with a fourth quarter 5-yard run. Madison’s (2-2) Danny Moorehead got the lone score for the Bulldogs, intercepting a Leavitt pass late in the contest and returning it 80 yards for a touchdown. The Hornets outgained Madison 461-31 in total yards.

Skowhegan 24, Lewiston 13

SKOWHEGAN — Adam Clukey passed for 297 yards and a pair of touchdowns — one each to Owen Mercier and DJ Allen — to lead Skowhegan to a 23-14 victory over Lewiston in Pine Tree Conference football action Friday. Clukey’s second strike, a 17-yard completion to Allen, sealed the game for the Indians (2-2) in the fourth quarter.

After a scoreless, defensive opening quarter, the hosts team struck first, and struck often. Ben Salley rumbled in from three yards out for the game’s first points early in the second. Mercier’s 59-yard catch and run widened the Indians’ lead to two touchdowns, and they added a third on a Tyler Savage 1-yard plunge to take an 18-0 lead.

Steven Patrie hauled in a 5-yard strike from Eddie Emerson late in the first half to put the Blue Devils (1-3) on the board at the half. They added another on an 89-yard Quintarian Brown sprint in the third to pull within a score, but Allen’s catch in the fourth quarter sealed the contest for Skowhegan.

OOB 21, Poland 18

OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Old Orchard Beach’s interception return for a touchdown early in the third quarter turned the tide Friday night and sparked the Seagulls to a 21-18 Western Class C football victory over Poland at Joe Regina Field.

OOB (3-1) completed its comeback on Joey Gildart’s 10-yard TD catch later in the third period.

Prior to that, Poland (0-4) built an 18-7 halftime advantage.

Touchdown runs of 39 yards by Tony Whalen and 8 yards by Tyler Sturtevant put the Knights on top 12-0.

Bryan Roberts put the Seagulls on the board with a 15-yard TD reception in the second quarter, but a 5-yard run by Nick Cote padded Poland’s advantage.
