FARMINGTON — SAVES (Sexual Assault Victims Emergency Services) will kick off its fundraising campaign with its second annual wine tasting on Thursday, Sept. 27, at the Holman House.

Featured will be a selection of wines from Ron’s Market, food and local band The Achords playing a mix of music from folk to rock to bluegrass.

With each ticket purchase, attendees will be entered to win “A Taste of Downtown Farmington,” a gift basket with more than $130 worth of gift certificates to Calzolaio Pasta Co., The Dugout, The Homestead, Thai Smile and Sushi and Wicked Gelato. It will also give attendees the chance to meet SAVES coordinator Nick Citriglia and Kathryn Foster, president of the University of Maine at Farmington.

“This fundraiser is outreach that gives and gives back at the same time. It broaches a sometimes difficult subject matter and allows people to put a face with an organization,” said Jeb Murphy, community outreach and education coordinator for SAVES.

Tickets to the fundraiser, from 5 to 8 p.m., are $20 for a single, $35 for a pair. They may be purchased between 9 a.m.and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the SAVES office on the second floor of the Holman House at 227 Main St.; or at the door. For more information, contact Murphy at 778-9522 or savescommed@sapars.org.
