PORTLAND — Portland Ovations will bring “Voyeur,” the latest dance work by Bridgman|Packer Dance, to ICA at Maine College of Art on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 5-6.

Together for more than 30 years, the team of Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer has developed an original approach to integrating video into their work by making it their third dance partner.

“Voyeur” finds inspiration in themes and scenes found in the artwork of American painter Edward Hopper. Making use of a set of open windows and doorways, “Voyeur” give audiences the opportunity to be “one who looks” at the fragmented moments of private life.

Portland Ovations hosted Bridgman, Packer and the duo’s video collaborator, Peter Bobrow, for a week last August when they filmed footage for the piece in and around the Portland area. Looking for locations reminiscent of Hopper’s paintings, many members of the Portland community opened their businesses and homes to Bridgman|Packer Dance.

Admission is free, with seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited. Performances will be at 6, 7:15 and 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 5; and at 2, 3 and 7 p.m. on Oct. 6.
