In her letter Sept. 21, Amanda Blais asked why politicians can raise millions of dollars so easily while campaigning. All the while, falsehoods prevail and the nation’s problems go unsolved.

Unless voters decide that enough is enough, the insane atmosphere in Washington will continue, with Democrats and Republicans alike selling the White House to special interests and lobbyists.

The nation will continue to be divided.

Most people were brought up to favor one party. I used to be that way. Now, as an independent, I would advise Blais and others to vote their conscience, not the party, in November.

We must return sanity to a corrupt Washington. If I have to, I will vote for Mr. or Mrs. “LeBlank.” The White House is not for sale.
