Families are expected to nurture, love and lead their children forward toward productive lives. Pertaining to Lewiston’s FLY football program, I applaud the staff for all their time and patience. But, what is going on in the heads of some parents?
“The Anyname team (imaginary) shouldn’t be allowed on the field due to poor performance” is an example of the talk on social media, on the sidelines and in the community.
I am shocked at those attitudes. It is unacceptable.
Instructional leagues such as FLY are to teach the game, give outdoor exercise and support teamwork.
Such parents need to re-evaluate their jobs as parents and grow up.
