AUBURN — Robert O. Wing, 67, of Lewiston died Friday, Sept. 28, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin with his family by his side.
He was born in Sabattus, Oct. 29, 1944, the son of the late Elwood and Lizzie (Beal) and had been a resident of this community all of his life.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam Conflict. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
Robert was employed for many years at Webster Rubber Co. and prior to his illness, he was employed as a custodian for the Lewiston School Department. He enjoyed bird watching and reading.
He is survived by his wife, the former Cecile Belanger, whom he married on Oct. 30, 1965, of Lewiston; a daughter, Kelly Johnson and her husband, Adam, of Lewiston; one granddaughter, Caroline Johnson; a sister, Betty Polley of Sabattus; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; five brothers; and one sister.
