A Jay man involved in a tractor-trailer collision on the Maine Turnpike Friday night was upgraded to fair condition Sunday at a Portland hospital.

Benjamin Desjardins, 37, of Jay was taken to Maine Medical Center following the 9:30 p.m. Friday crash between two loaded tractor-trailers in the southbound lane around mile marker 34. He was upgraded Sunday from critical to fair condition, according to a nursing supervisor.

The other driver, 41-year-old Darren Castonguay of Gray, was taken Friday to Southern Maine Medical Center in stable condition. No information was available about his condition Sunday night.
