LEWISTON — Emily Paione scored the game’s only goal in the second half to help Lewiston edge Cony 1-0 in Eastern Class A soccer action.

Paione’s score came 17 minutes into the half on an assist from Tori Denis. Brianna Lajoie stopped all seven shots she faced in the shutout for Lewiston (2-5-2). Autum Sudbury stopped 13 shots for the Rams (4-6).

Madison 8, Telstar 0

BETHEL — Madison struck seven times with five different scorers in the first half, rolling to an 8-0 victory over Telstar in girls’ MVC soccer.

Kayla Bass, Erika Parker, Kirsten Wood, and Samantha Bruce each scored a goal in the first 9:07. Bass and Bruce followed with their second scores of the game before Kayla Booker pushed one across for a 7-0 halftime lead.

Cristie Vicneire registered the only goal of the second half. Tori Ryerson made 17 saves in net for the Rebels (1-9-1). Savanna Kandiko earned the shutout in net for the Bulldogs (5-6).

Monmouth 3, Boothbay 0

BOOTHBAY — Three separate scorers all pushed across goals and the Mustang defense stuffed the Seahawks as Monmouth blanked Boothbay 3-0 in girls’ MVC soccer.

Junior Kylie Kemp registered the only goal of the first half with a score with one minute remaining. Madison Bumann scored on an assist from Kemp midway through the second half. Caroline Bonenfent rounded out the goals scoring off an assist from Danielle Bumann. Monmouth held the advantage in shots, 24-6.

McKayla McFetridge had ten saves for Boothbay (0-10-1) while counterpart Adriana Gonzalez stopped four shots for Monmouth (10-0).

Mt. Abram 1, Spruce Mountain 0

JAY — Emma Houston registered an early goal as Mt. Abram held on for a 1-0 victory over Spruce Mountain in girls’ MVC soccer.

Taylor Henderson set up Houston’s first-half goal just ten minutes into the game. Mt. Abram held a slight edge in shots, 12-11. Roadrunner (6-4-1) keeper Allison Lopez stopped all seven shots she faced for the shutout. Amber Delaney also made seven saves in net for the Phoenix (4-7-1).

Field Hockey

Dirigo 2, St. Dom’s 0

DIXFIELD — Dirigo got a goal in each half and the Cougars’ defense stifled St. Dom’s en route to a 2-0 triumph in MVC field hockey action.

Junior Rylee L’Italien scored on an Ellie Wainwright pass for the Dirigo (4-7-1) first half goal. Emma Lueders assisted Brittany Lapointe with the final goal. Dirigo outshot St. Dom’s 10-5.

Amanda Dolloff stopped all five shots she faced in the shutout. Amanda Cortellino made eight saves for the Saints (3-8-1).

Telstar 3, Hall-Dale 1

BETHEL — Freshman Becca Howard tallied three first-half goals to help lift Telstar to a 3-1 victory over Hall-Dale in MVC field hockey.

Hall Dale’s (1-10) Brooke Berberich scored the games first goal pushing across a score off a deflected corner. Two minutes later, Howard tied the score off an assist from Hannah Ryerson. Autum Morin assisted with Howard for her next goal before the freshman scored an unassisted goal on a breakaway.

Telstar’s (3-8) Hali Barter stopped four shots in the win. Hannah Perry made three saves for the Bulldogs.

Boys’ soccer

Mt. Blue 4, Cony 0

FARMINGTON — Mt. Blue received goals from four different players while shutting out Cony for a 4-0 victory in KVAC boys’ soccer.

Ike Doiron registered the first score of the game ten minutes into the first half off an assist from Drew Parsons. Parsons followed with an unassisted goal of his own about 12 minutes later. Liam Welch finished off the first half scoring with the Cougars (3-6) leading 3-0.

Evan Backus tallied an unassisted goal in the second half to complete the scoring. Zack Jackson turned away all six shots he faced while Bradley Elwell made seven stops for Cony (3-6).

College soccer

CMCC 10, UMA 0

AUBURN —  Central Maine Community College exploded for ten goals, including six in the first half, as the Mustangs routed the University of Maine at Augusta in men’s soccer, 10-0.

Darrell Wilson found the back of the net just 1:10 into the match after receiving a pass in the middle from Dylan Tisor. Wilson volleyed a ball in five minutes later that had rebounded off the crossbar to give the Mustangs (5-3) a 2-0 lead. Nicholas Cameron scored the next two, the second of which was assisted by Kulmiye Idris. Cameron then provided the assist to the next goal which sent Clifford Turner through one and one with the keeper. With under a minute to go Ugas Ali scored for Central Maine bringing the halftime score to 6-0.

Jacob Roy and Owen Miller each scored a pair of second half goals ro round out the scoring. Sam Hobson had four saves in goal for Central Maine and Zach Abram had 22 saves in net for the University of Maine Augusta.
