FARMINGTON — Police charged two local men early Sunday morning with providing their apartment on High Street for minors to consume alcohol.
Dale Winchenbach, 21, and Edward Flaherty, 21, were arrested after police responded to a loud party complaint and found a large gathering at 398 High St.
While Farmington police officers Ted Neil and Daryn Gilbert found the tenants hosting the party, Sgt. Edward Hastings went to the back of the building where several were attempting to leave, police secretary Rachel Heseltine said.
Hastings summoned Mark Saint-Louis, 20, of Bath on a charge of illegal possession of alcohol. He also gave a summons to Samuel Spahr, 20, of South Washington after he admitted to drinking at the party, she said.
Winchenbach and Flaherty told police they tried to stop any underage partiers from coming into the apartment. They said they had only invited friends who were 21 years old and thought that they might have invited younger friends.
Winchenback and Flaherty were released from Franklin County Detention Center on Sunday on $2,500 unsecured bail.
