Girl Scouts meeting
TURNER — Girl Scouts of Maine will host a parent information and registration meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Turner Primary School, 59 Cobb Road.
Girls and adults are invited to attend the meeting to find out about the different and fun ways today’s girls are participating in Girl Scouting and how the programs and activities inspire them to reach their personal best.
Participants will also learn about the flexible options and benefits of becoming a Girl Scout volunteer.

Fall bazaar set
JAY — Daughters of Isabella will hold a fall bazaar from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Parish Hall, Church Street. There will be theme baskets for sale, raffles and drawings.
Medicare seminar
FARMINGTON — There will be an educational seminar, “Understanding Medicare and Your Options,” from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 6, in the North Dining Hall, Olsen Student Center, UMF.
The seminar is for anyone approaching age 65 and for those who wish to learn more about the Medicare system and the options available. Presenting at the seminar will be Anthony G. Arruda, certified senior adviser, and
Sen. Tom Saviello.
The seminar is educational, and is free and open to the public. There is no cost to attend, however preregistration is suggested by calling 778-6601.
CNA Plus course
TURNER —CNA Plus, a free training course for those who qualify, will be offered from October through Feburary.
The class incorporates 180 hours of CNA training and includes CPR/first aid certification, 45 hours of healthcare work and all books, scrubs and supplies.
