AUBURN — Florence A. St. Pierre, 96, of 440 Minot Ave., Auburn, and formerly of 35 Old Greene Road in Lewiston, died peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Clover Manor Health Care Facility, following a short illness.

She was born in St. Albert, P.Q., Canada, on June 5, 1916, the daughter of Paul and Alexina (Cloutier) Laplante, and had been a resident of this community all of her life.

She was educated in Lewiston schools and had been employed as an assistant manager at Geiger Brothers in the Book Bindery Dept., until her retirement in 1978.

She married Joseph D. St. Pierre on June 29, 1940; he died on April 25, 2006. Florence enjoyed bowling in local leagues.

She is survived by one daughter, Claudette Roy and her husband, Roger of Auburn; two grandchildren, Lisa Forbush and her husband, Andrew of Auburn and Brian Roy and his wife, Miranda of New Gloucester; two great-grandchildren, Alex Richards and Benjamin Forbush; two step-great-grandchildren, Dolar and Noah Smith; one brother, Reynold Laplante of New Oxford, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband; she was predeceased by three brothers, Armand, Gerard and Roland Laplante; and by two sisters, Jeanne Bissonnette and Emilene Tremblay.
