FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce is organizing two breakfasts to help people learn more about the candidates for the U.S. Senate and the Franklin County sheriff races.
The breakfast events are open to both members and non-members and are planned for Oct. 22 and 29.
The first breakfast features U.S. Senate candidates Cynthia Dill, Andrew Dodge, Angus King, Charles Summers and Stephen Woods.
It takes place at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 22, in the North Dining Hall of Olsen Student Center at the University of Maine at Farmington. This breakfast is sponsored by Franklin Savings Bank.
The second breakfast, planned for 7:30 a.m. Oct. 29 at Calzolaio Pasta Co. in Wilton, features Franklin County sheriff candidates. Incumbent Dennis Pike is being challenged by Scott Nichols, Carrabassett Valley Police chief, for the position.
The candidates will answer questions and provide their stances on key issues. Not to be confused with a debate, these breakfasts will provide the public with the opportunity to learn more about candidates in a non-partisan environment.
The second breakfast is sponsored by Calzolaio Pasta Co. and Shiretown Insurance.
Both of these breakfasts are free to members and $12 for non-members.
In order to provide adequate seating for everyone, RSVP is required. Please register by calling Marc at 778-4215 or by email at [email protected].
