AUBURN — Edward Little (4-5) held off Hampden Academy as long as it could in the first a half before the Broncos (8-1) exploded with four goals in second half and slipped away with a 4-0 victory in a KVAC girls’ soccer game Monday.
Naomi Shearer scored twice for the Broncos. Anna Michaud and Erin Jeter also scored for Hampden.
Hampden goalie Sami Bodwer made six saves to preserve her shutout and EL goalie Taylor Landry stopped 10.
Gray-NG 3, Poland 2
POLAND — Gray-New Gloucester jumped out to a 3-1 lead and held on to defeat Poland, 3-2, in WMC girls’ soccer action Tuesday.
Sarah Giggey, Taylor Darnell and Zoe Adams all scored for the Patriots (3-5-2). Emma Turton had one of the goals off a throw-in for the Knights (5-3-1). Haley Whitworth made 11 saves in net for Poland. Sam Wilkins stopped seven shots for Gray-New Gloucester.
Mt. Ararat 2,
Lewiston 0
LEWISTON — Libby Ouellette netted a pair of goals Tuesday to propel Mt. Ararat to a 2-0 win over Lewiston a KVAC girl’s soccer matchup.
Lauren Williams made eight saves to record the shutout, while Lex Jimenez deflected 27 shots in the cage for Lewiston (2-6-2).
Winslow 5, Leavitt 1
TURNER — Pilar Elias registered a hat trick Tuesday as Winslow hustled to a 5-1 win over Leavitt in KVAC girl’s soccer action.
Alliya Veilleux was credited with two goals for the Black Raiders. Jenna Cote tallied the Hornets’ lone goal with three minutes left in regulation with an assist from Mariah Treadwell.

Oxford Hills 2, Edward Little 1
SOUTH PARIS — Jesse Murch took a feed from Taylor Smedberg and scored 5:53 into overtime as Oxford Hills rallied to edge Edward Little, 2-1, in KVAC field hockey action Tuesday.
Edward Little led 1-0 at halftime on a Hannah Johnston goal. But the Vikings’ Whitney Morse tied the game in the second half.
Amanda Williams made 11 saves in goal for the Red Eddies (2-9). Abby Egan and Shannon Fillebrown split cage-minding duties for the Vikings (3-7-1) and combined for 11 saves.
Mt. Ararat 4,
Lewiston 0
TOPSHAM — Carly Raymond scored a pair of goals as Mt. Ararat marched past Lewiston (8-4) with a 4-0 victory Tuesday.
Raymond scored the first and last goals for the Eagles (7-4) and picked up an assist along the way.
The Eagles jumped out front when Raymond scored on Charlotte Crosby assist. But Mt. Ararat switched things around when Raymond assisted on Crosby’s goal.
Caitlin Lafountain also scored for Mt. Ararat. Lewiston goalie Emma Burgess made 15 saves in net.
Spruce Mountain 7, Telstar 0
JAY — Nicole Hamblin led a group of seven players to register goals as Spruce Mountain overpowered Telstar 7-0 in MVC field hockey action Tuesday.
Randi Duguay, Kayla Meserve, Jahna Couture, Erin Gats, Lorayanna Tracey and Ledesta Tracey also tallied for the Phoenix (10-1-1).
Kasey Richards made seven saves to notch the shutout, while Hali Barter turned aside 21 shots in the cage for Telstar.
