NEW GLOUCESTER — Sheila Enid Head, 66, formerly of West Bethel, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 27, at her home, with her family by her side.
She was born in Rumford on Aug. 5, 1946, the daughter of Arthur Robert and Ruth Walker Gilbert.
She graduated from Gould Academy in 1964 and married Arthur Lewis Head on April 16, 1966. They made their home on Barker Road in West Bethel for many years. She moved to New Gloucester in 2006 to be closer to her family. She had been a babysitter, a caregiver and homemaker all of her life. She was a gifted artist, painting many different things. She enjoyed sewing and doing crafts, even designing her own stencils. She was an avid reader. She was a member of the West Bethel Union Church and the Ladies Aide.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Rottari and husband, Robert, and grandchildren, Leah, Olivia and Josiah; her daughter, Marietta Chiras and husband, Richard, and grandchild, Christina; two sisters, Rowena Stowell and Jonathan and Roberta Norton and Kevin; several nieces and nephews; in-laws, Fumi Head, Fran and David Head and Mary and Howard Butler.
She was predeceased by her husband on Aug. 9, 1997.
