LEWISTON — Ruth M. Pruitt, 47, of Sabattus, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston after a brief illness from complications of meningitis.
She was born in Biddeford, July 8, 1965, the daughter of Fernand and Rita Corriveau Lamontagne. She was educated in Biddeford schools, graduated from Biddeford High School in 1983 and graduated from the University of New England in Biddeford with a bachelor of science degree in physical therapy. On Dec. 11, 1999, she married Daniel P. Pruitt in Marysville, Wash. Ruth worked 25 years as a physical therapist, the last 15 years with Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice. She followed her daughter’s softball games, home and away. She was proud of her two sons’ Eagle Scout achievements. She also enjoyed the Boston Red Sox.
Surviving are her husband of Sabattus; one daughter, Lauren Edwards and her husbandm Justin of Sabattus; two sons, Markus Hall and Zachary Hall, both of Sabattus; her parents of Biddeford; three stepsons, Denny Pruitt of Providence, R.I., Kory Pruitt of Providence, R.I., Alexander Pruitt of Knob Noster, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Dessira Caldwell of Providence, R.I.; one brother, Marc A. Lamontagne of Old Orchard Beach; one sister, Nicole Merrill and her husband, William of Saco; three grandchildren, Olivia Edwards, Kassandra Caldwell and Joseph Caldwell; four nephews, Brandon, Adam & Cory Lamontagne and Myles Woodworth.
